I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday season and your New Year started off well. After a very relaxing bit of time off from the blog and life in general, I still feel a bit in the Christmas spirit. The first of this year's Italy on a Plate is here. It looks like others have a little lingering Christmas spirit also because we have a few Christmas dessert recipes, many pasta dishes, and some rare & possibly unheard of regional specialties from Abruzzo & Tuscany. In Eating Italy, there is a seasonal food calendar for Rome (along with suggestions on where to go), a few other best of 2011 posts from around Italy and more. Buon Anno Nuovo & Buon Appetito!

Hello,
I thoroughly enjoy your newsletter, especially the week in Italian Food. I'm amazed at the number of different blogs you provide links to. I would love to be able to subscribe to them all, but I fear I already spend too much time on my computer including much about Italy. I love the country and have been there 12 or 13 times over the past 50 years. Your newsletter helps me connect again. I am grateful.

Joan - Thank you for the very kind comment. I'm so glad you enjoy Italy on a Plate. You've nailed the reason I compile this list of links to Italian food. Each week I hope to "reconnect" those who love Italian food with the many great Italian food posts from around the web. So glad you enjoy it!
