Welcome to this week's Italian food news and recipes. As we wait for the next Italian holiday and the food that surrounds it, this week's food is all about Spring and pasta. An artichoke pie, artichoke pasta, another pasta from Calabria, a video of making spaghetti carbonara in Rome, and handmade garganelli pasta are just a few of the recipe highlights. In Eating Italy, there's a great list of 75 must eat places in Rome. Besides Rome there's great food in Venice, a cooking class in Sicily, the Umbrian flavors in Norcia, coffee and gelato in Turin, pizza in Naples and more about wine in Friuli. Enjoy & buon appetito!

Thanks Kathy, for the mention. I see a photo of La Barca in Venice. I took a photo of it last October. A Venetian friend told me it had closed on Christmas Eve: the owners wanted to retire. Then new owners took over and is now open again. I am glad this piece of Venice endures. Have a great week!
